Only had a pressurized co2 setup for less than a week and my Milwaukee (spelling) regulator that I got new off ebay kept giving irregular dosings. I had it tweaked to 3 bubbles per second. My co2 ppm was good about 30. Sometimes I would find the regulator byitself chaning the output to a higher read. More bubbles. I leave for work I come back home all 11 fish are dead. Ph has dropped way down, my tests only measure to 6, but the ph must have been way lower. My kh is 3 degrees so thats at least 90ppm of co2 in the water. If that didnt get them the ph shock did. :(

My fault at inexperience in using the regulator or the regulator itself is a piece of crap?

I was told right after this that i need a flow regulator.

Tips?

Thanks :(

The same thing happened to me when I started the CO2. I lost mine with the diy stuff. Too much yeast. I only got to 60ppm, but I lost a good number of fish as well. I don't know what to tell you for the regulator. Once mine is set, it stays at that level. Do you have a fine needle control valve on the line? Maybe your regulator can't handle the low pressure.

Man.. that Stinks! :(

Ive found that mine always takes abit of tweaking, but that when it changes, its always towards the 'slowing down' mode.....

Do you have a needle valve?

Well, I can answer my own question first... it was due to my inexperience. My regulator can be seen here: MA957

If you look on the picture on the far right side there is a dial that is what I DIDN't use. It was locked tight, my second gauge didnt even show a reading. I was just using it like that. So it wasnt stable. After actually using it, I get a reading on the second gauge and it has been stable since saturday. I guess thats the needle valve dial or something. sigh

Just can't stop to think that I could have read further and prevented the disaster.
Took me the weekend to get over it as it was really my first time I had so many casualties.

Thanks all
