Im re doing my tank, adding a DIY CO2 bottle, and would like some thouhgts from you chaps here as to what plants i could add, and how i could alter the aquascape from jungle, to unique. :)

I want more of a traingular increase to the right or left, with some easy and low light plants.

I have removed the terracota pot down the bottum left of the pic, and will buy some more substrate for that side too.

Food for thought:

Good point man. It does look a little "crowded" eh. Cheers.

Keep 'em ideas coming! :p

Yeah, serious pruning is needed!

I'd add something with some red in it, probably hygrophila polysperma (tropic sunset). It's a nice contrast to all the green...

Oh yeah. Trimming the jungle was the first job on the list after discusions! :p Thanks. I do have redvained hygro in there. (Not the latest pic) But it will show up once it grows larger. :) Hopefully!

I love that tank it looks great. I want mine to look like that. I have just now started to plant all my tanks and I am going to need all the help I can get. Do you guys mind if I start to bug you some??

I think thats a good idea. I think in the picture you have at the moment, it's very wild looking, which is fine. But you're looking to change it, so I would add some bogwood for a focal point, trim back the current plants a bit, think of getting some foreground plants, maybe show a little substrate? Just some ideas.

What is your wpg? This will help in deciding whether or not you really need CO2 and if you do, what plants will best suit yur tank.

In regards to the triangular composition, it depends on whether you want one whole side with plants or more the back or front corner. I have the back riht corner of my tank as tall plants like val, ambulia, mayaca, Rotala, Ludwigia etc. In the back left corner I have more striking plants, atm I have Blue stricta, a red sword plant and some foxtail.

Initially with the CO2 you might like to get some algae busting plants until you get used to using CO2 as too much fluctuation in CO2 will cause unsightly algae to form. If you can get this under control from day one you are on a winner. I think gf or jimboo has a pinned article in here somewhere talking about algae and suitable plants to help.
