i have a project i have to do about the import of a product and i wanted to do it on bettas and the process of how they get to the u.s can anyone tell me the process they go through :) ?

First you have to find a breeder from another country, usually aquabid.com has a large variety of Thailand breeders. Then after you pick the fiah you want you pay for them. This payment includes the cost of the fish plus a small shipping amount around 5$. At this time you will also have to locate a transhiper that the breeder uses. There are usually 4-5 options, usually the closest one works best, but thats all personal preference. After you pay they (the breeders) all get together and ship all the fish coming (Assuming your in the US) into the US via Air Plane to your selected transhippers. They do it this way to save everyone money. The Transhipper will then email you letting you know the fish have arrived. Sometimes there are fish Dead on Arival. Or DOA. The transhipper will also let you know about the status of the fish. After the Transhipper receives the Payment for shipping they should ship you your fish the next Monday. This process is sometimes confusing so make sure you ask both the breeders and the transhippers many questions and save all your emails. If your not happy with them then just use a different transhipper/breeder next time. Most of them are nice and understanding. Good luck!
