Alright.. I had two female mollies and two male mollies.. but yesterday I went to the petstore and picked up myself another female mollie.. she looked abit chubby at the petstore..

I dont have a breeding net or anything... and I had all the fish plus other types (community tank) in my 70gallon...

I was just looking at the fish a little while ago and the female i bought yesterday looks very sqaure like, and I thought this means they're about ready to have their babies?

So, I got my 2gallon tank ready... and I just moved her into there... now she seems to be going abit crazy because it's smaller then the 70gallon.. I fed her, and it calmed her down a little...

It looks like something white is kind of coming out of her abit... and she keeps pooping alot...

Should I expect babies?.. or, not?.... how soon should I be expecting them... and also... did I do the right thing with moving her to her own 2gallon tank??... I need as much help as possible... please help!!! :S

Right what colour is the poop, can you describe the white thing, as she might be aborting due to the stress of her new home then being moved again.

Her poop is pink.. but also abit whitish...

The white thing just looks like something not totally hanging out... but just looks possibly like it might come out... it's just right under her anal fins..

Also... my other female fish who I know if pregnant is beginning to also look sqaurish... but just today I've noticed that it's like she's shivering.. I was just curious if this was a sign of labor also??..

And should I just move the other fish back.. and just keep that one tank empty (the 2gallon).. and just see if I notice any fry in the 70gallon and just move them into the smaller tank??

Do you feed the fish pink flakes, try some shelled peas, leave the fish in the 2gal don't want to stress her anymore, leave the females in i did, then just collect the fry.

Yeah... they eat pink flakes... and well is there is some type of dried worms maybe with it... not sure...

but... can you help me with why my other fish might have the shivers for??.. is she sick?... or labor? :/

Dried worms in the food do you mean, right any flicking and rubbing on objects, twitching, red inflamed gills, what the temp of the tank

No, she's perfectly normal... acting like herself... everytime I go near the tank she always coming right up to greet me... but, as I watch her she's shivering... she doesn't do it all the time.. only once and awhile... she's eating.. and swimming around with the other fish....

the temp. is at 80

Just keep an eye on her for parasites, like whitespot and velvet, good luck.

Forgot to say with adding a new fish to the tank, she might off fetched a parasite into the tank.

Well... I just went to check on her right now.... and, now she doesn't even come to see me when I get to the tank.... she's in the back of the tank... floating near the bottom of the tank... she's just staying in one area.. or spot... and she's shivering alot more now...

Right put the pregnant fish back in the main tank, then get the shaking guppy and add her to the 2gal, add some salt to the tank, one teaspoon to the gal.

Shimmies

Symptoms:

This disease is named for the curious behavior seen in afflicted fish. Fish will swim with an odd, shimmying movement of the body. If left untreated, the afflicted fish will become unable to swim and will sit on the bottom, listlessly shimmying. This disease affects mostly livebearers, and particularly Mollies.

Cause:

Cause unkown but may be due to a variety of numerous pathogens, including protozoan, bacterial, and fungal.

Treatment:

Isolate the fish in a hospital tank and increase the temperature to 85°F (27°C). Treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic. Also ensure that the water chemistry is within acceptable ranges. Livebearers' should always be kept in water that has a pH of 7.8 - 8.3 and a hardness of 15°DH+.

Once you stick the pregnant fish back in the main tank, you can't move her again. It's going to really stress her out to keep moving, and being netted, and having the water quality change on her. It's very likely she could abort after all this stress, so just cross your fingers and hope she settles down. And leave her in one place for a while. :)

I no, but she has a sick fish and needs to be issolated, as i would of not recommended moving her again, bad situation, turn main tank light off if you move her to let her settle down abit faster.

Oh, I'm not picking on you at all Wilder, I totally agree to isolate the sick fish. You gave good advice, I'm just saying, once the sick fish gets better, don't move the pregnant one into the 2 gallon again. Leave her where she is until she has fry, and maybe the next batch you can move her. Though 2 gallons is on the very small side for Mollies, I'd recommend at least a 5 for birthing tanks...
