Imminent Birth?

For the last couple of days one of my female guppies has been hovering at the top of the tank in the plants.
Today she's hiding towards the bottom, again in the plants away from the others.
Do you think the birth is imminent? She looks like she's ready to pop.
I'm not going to put her in a trap, just let nature take it's course, the others are ignoring her, so hope some fry will survive

It definitely sounds like she is/was ready to pop - given that your post was 3 days ago, I imagine she has done so by now.

If you'd like fry to survive, you need to get a heavily-planted section of your tank, for the fry to hide in. Java Moss is great for this purpose.
