hey so im thinking about putting corys in my 10 gal sand planted. do corys like that? and do they need to be in groups?

Cories love the sand, they sift through it and it comes out of their gills  . They prefer to be in groups and look so much better for it. I am no expert on the matter, but I have 8 cories in my tank, 4 different types (2 x Adolfoi, 2 x Agassizis, 2 x Concolor and 2 x Laser Green). They all socialise with each other and I just think they are sooo cool.

thanks thats what i thought if any one else has info that might be helpful let me know :)

please research carefully whatever species of cory you intend to get; most of the common species reach 3" when fully grown and so a school of just 4 albino cories would already overstock a 10 gallon.

cories also prefer having many open sandy places to swim, so you don't want to plant too heavily.
