dont worry my friend will take good care of it, ill make the perfect habitat for him at his house

so with an empty 40gal brackish tank, i was thinking of getting

2 Gsps
1 silvertip shark catfish
maybe some gobies

i dunno what do you all think?

gsp=green spotted puffer.

I dunno about the tankmates, but i think you would have to be pretty lucky to get away with 2 GSPs in a 40g, i would say 40g is about the right size for just one, i could be wrong though. IIRC it's hard to keep multiple GSPs together in any size tank, let alone a tank thats only suitable for one.

Hi

What happened to your Moray?

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but 40 gal is too small for Columbian Cat Sharks and you will need at least two as they like each others company, they are to skittish if kept by themselves. I’ve started mine of in a 75gal and they grew from 2 inch to 12 inch within 18 month. Even the GSP will eventually need a bigger tank.

Sorry

I'm with Sabby on this -- there's really no such thing as "1 shark catfish". When you've seen these fish in the flesh, you'll understand: they love company. Keeping one is just plain wrong. A trio is, in my opinion, the minimum, and for that you need a tank 100 gallons+.

In a 40 gallon tank, think smaller. An excellent community could be made using gobies, figure-8 puffers, sleeper gobies (such as crazy fish), glassfish, wrestling halfbeaks, orange chromides, etc. with some hygrophila and other plants to make a thick tangle of vegetation to the puffers wouldn't annoy everyone else. A classy, entertaining tank that is easy to put together and only requires around SG 1.003-1.005.

Cheers, Neale
