I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with my angelfish, but just today I came home to notice that it looked like it was having trouble breathing and on it side it appeared to have been scraped up really bad. I don't know if it's sick or was attacked in some way. I also fed the fish and it didn't eat anything.
I have 2 angelfish, 1 tiger oscar(very small, only an inch as opposed to the angels being about 3 inches tall), a betta, but he hides behind a screen I draped in the tank to protect this new plant that the silver dollar kept trying to eat(the silver dollars about 2 inches long) and one little zebra danio. All of the water seems to test out fine.
If anyone could give me a hint as to what's wrong I would really appreciate it.

Firstly Welcome

I think that it's something to do with fighting.
First if it's possible I'd suggest moving the Angel to another (Hospital tank) and adding some anti-fungal treatment. Mela-fix.
Removing the stress from the fish is usually enough to give it a helping hand.
If it's left in the main tank with the other fish I don't see a good future for the fish. It's will find it hard fighting it's scrapes n stuff, plus the other many pick on it as it is weak.
If you have to leave it in the tank. Treat it as above. But keep an eye on it because second infections can surface.

Thanks, I have a couple of extra aquariums so I'll move him out today.

Hi Aleksandra,

Welcome to the board

Hope everything works out fine with the angel, keep us posted on what happens.

What are you going to do when the oscar gets bigger :but: don't you think there could be a problem with the other fish becoming dinner for him/her  .

Hi there. Just to clarify one thing about Melafix it's not really a medication in the traditional sence. There has been on data to support what the bottle claims it can do. It's not a bad thing to have on hand for torn fins and things of that nature. I use it all the time just for that reason with my bettas.

Instead of using Melafix for a scrape that could get infected with Flexibactor (looks like white cotton, not a true fungus) and septicemia (red streaks in the fins is where this one starts usually). There's another disease it could get infected with, but I can't remember the name right off. I would use Maracyn and Maracyn II. You can beat a lot of fish diseases with only these two medications.

Hope this helps a bit. Rose

Yeah go with Rose, The treatments are sometimes diffrent in the US compaired to the UK, Melafix is just one I know they have.
