Hello! I think this is my first post in the betta section here. Right now I have two veiltail pet store bettas (one was a rescue from Walmart  ). They are each enjoying their own 2 gallon tanks and are quite happy. They are awesome little dudes with such great personalities.
I have been reading about breeding bettas for about 6 months now (and slowly collecting equipment). Today I jumped right in and went ahead and bought a couple males and some females that I hope to try and breed (wish me luck...I know it isn't easy!). I will try to link to the two auctions for the males I won:

I asked the seller about what females he had and I was able to buy a couple SDS (one white, and one pink with red fins) that he will ship with the males. I can't wait until they arrive. He isn't able to ship until 2/26 and so I'm going to be on pins and needles for over a week!! But, I promise pictures of them once they arrive, and will probably be back with breeding questions once they are all settled in!!

WOW i love the males! I need a female cause i have a gorgeous, master nest builder CT but dont have a nic female...:angry:Id live one off aquabid but am in england... Pm me on how you get on as i will start to breed soon. WHat tanks you keeping the females in?

The females will go into my 5 gallon. I think I will put a divider in and give them each 2.5 gallons...that way they don't get aggressive with each other. The males will be in a ten gallon divided tank. Actually, I have two ten gallons that I could use...Hmmm ok I'm gonna have to think this out. I have two cycled ten gallons (they have fish in them that will be moving to a bigger tank this week) and I have a completely empty 20 gallon, and I have the 5 gallon that is cycled. I could divide both of the tens (put males in one and females in the other) and then cycle the 20 gallon and use it for the breeding tank. Or I could put the females in the 5 gallon and divide it, put the males in a divided ten, and then use the other ten for the breeding tank. Hmmm....Decisions decisions!! Oh, I also have a couple empty 1 gallons. I plan to use those as the hospital tank after breeding. So the female can be treated and taken care of once the male is done with her...and the other for the male after I remove him from the breeding tank. They will stay in the one gallons until they are are healed up and ready to go back into their normal tanks.

Could you maybe get a female off of ebay? Sucks that they don't have an aquabid for the UK. Good luck in finding a nice lady for your male :)

con nor they got some lovely ct girls near me...where are you in uk?

Thanks...I thought they were just the prettiest boys I'd ever seen and just HAD to have them :) I'm anxious to see the girls, also! I'm sure I'll have tons of questions once I actually get all set up and ready to spawn LOL I'm still excited about my new buys. My husband is in Nebraska at his mother's (should be home in about an hour or so) I can't wait until he gets here so I can show him the pictures and everything. Oh, this is going to be a long week! A verrrrry Loooooong week!! The seller was going to ship on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday), but then he remembered he had an appointment that day and asked if it was alright if he waited until the 26th to ship. I said that was fine, but now I'm wishing I'd told him just to cancel his darn appointment and ship my fish!!! LOL

Well they FINALLY got here! They got shipped Priority accidently, instead of Express so it took a couple extra days. The seller was a total sweetheart throughout the whole ordeal, though. I was worried sick about my poor babies, but they are all fine. They are floating in their baggies right now, but I managed to snap some pics. Will make a seperate post for all the pics :)
