I generally avoid putting my hands inside the tanks when sick. But right now I have no one to do the job for me and I need to move some of the plants and decorations inside of my tanks. Would me been sick affect the fish in any way?

Unless you're sick with the TB, viruses are pretty specific to the organisms they infect.

I'd like to see a fish with a cold - the underwater sneezing would be impressive.

But joking aside, yes unless you have fish tuberculosis then I wouldn't worry.

Now if you have ferrets on the other hand - they can catch human colds, but otherwise +1 on pp.

I am been treated for TB, just started treatmnet like a week ago. But no, i have bronchitis. I hope thats written right...

There are all sorts of pathogens that can bounce from human to aquarium and vice versa.

Overall the main advice is to not worry too much about it, but fish tb can be very unpleasant. That would be the one to avoid open wounds or even wear gloves when dealing with hands in tanks, but I'm not sure, apart from one person, that I know anyone that bothers.

Generally, if cultured, aquariums contain all sorts of staphylococci and psuedomonas type bugs that can in theory transmit to humans, but there are far more worrying things that you can catch from other places. As for viruses like colds, I'm not sure that there are any that are relevant.

You're more likely to be injured by a coral sting, fish bite or spine, or something sharp on the decor damaging you.
