Im Running A Pengiun Bio-wheel Filter

They dont make a filter that i have found that does not have carbon to fit mine. LFS said all i could do is cut the filter open and take the carbon out. Is this essential and what will i be losing by taking the carbon out. I am sure its there for a reason

the carbon will remove nutrients the plants need..maybe you could by some sponge material and cut to fit..

I just cut the filter open and remove the carbon. Hmmm.. I might have to invest in some sponge though, good idea!
