Don't forget to try and add a slope to the substrate, so that waste flows downhill to a spot where you can easily suck it up.

Looking good. Only other tip I would give is make sure you leave enough space between the hardscape and the glass that you can get a cleaner on the glass. Otherwise you will end up with a spot of algae on the glass that you just cant get too. I may have done that more than once.....

Not a big deal. I don't bother doing that with my tanks anymore because after a few months my bottom feeders level it out anyway.

My cichlids & catfish have their way with the tank substrate too. All the plants are now floaters, but doing great & look cool up there.

So by pouring the water in, it scattered all the decor so I got really frustrated and smashed the tank with a hammer... Jking... Im just leaving it because I need the wood to soak up the water
