Hi I'm getting a saltwater tank and I am getting 4 clownfish. I was just wondering, what other kinds of fish go well with these?

(The water source i am getting from is already a cycled, saltwater tank.)

Ah if only it were that simple :)

What size tank? (dimensions and gallons)
How is it that the tank is "cycled"? Is it second hand?

I'd suggest at least a basic reading through the stickies atop the marine and reef chit chat section to get yourself some knowledge about keeping marine tanks.

Well the tank I'm getting the saltwater from has been set up and running with a filter and fish in it for years, and it is definitely cycled

I'm just wondering what fish do good with clownfish.

The issue here is it's not the water which cycles your tank as such, you would need that filter in your tank not just the water

whats the tank size?
and before u even do anything, u should research a tank of your size. nothin worst then buyin a whole bunch of fish, and not knowing the care (feeding habits/size), and not havin them a long time.

good luck with ur tank though

the tank i am planning on using is a 20-gallon tank, and im planning to put a pair of common clownfish in.

for a 20 gallon, if you have a good amount of live rock (around 25-30 pounds) you could easily fit 2 common clownfish and maybe 2 small gobies like neon goby or a pistol shrimp goby pair. But thats about it really.

If you run GFO or have a refugium and use a skimmer, you could max out at about five small fish. I would not recommend anything higher, unless they are real small and you do many water changes. Remember that one of the best things about having a nano tank is that less... is more. Everything seems more significant in a nano tank; even the isopods.
