I'm New To Plants

Hello,
Im getting a 55 for Christmas, and I wanted to add plants.
oNe problem,however I'm only going to have 1wt per gallon and no co2.
How can I get started?
What could I add?
What do you suggest?
Yes, there will be driftwood.

I would suggest getting better lighting and adding at least DIY CO2.

You'll only be able to grow a few low light plants such as anubias or crypts. Much better to get at least 2 wpg.
