Hello Ive been a member of this site for almost or over 3 yrs now.
I havent needed to call for help yet but, heres my delema.
I have a 3ft tank, has on peaice of driftwood.
Atm no plants, or live plants.
I have 1x 2 yr old Pearl lace gourami, who i believe is male.
when i brought him, i also had anoth pearl i brought with him, who died a yr or less after
- ever since then he has lived alone, with 1x algee eater.
Except for about 8 months to 1 year ago i purchased 6 x redline tetras,
2 x yellow gouramis and 1x blue dwarf gourami. they all died, i believe on of these fish had a disease, most likely tetra, i tryed to cure them but in the end only saved the older two fish.
Anyway well, about a month ago i moved home so moved my to fish.
i did a multi cure only a week ago to make sure they are all ok.
i added a large air stonme to increase oxegon.
and i up the heater to remove any parisites. to about 27-28.
iv'e left the heater at this temp as they seem to prefere it.
Last week i brought another sucking fish. and 1x Rainbow fish, the pet shop said the rainbow is of a relation to gouramis.
last night i seen my old pearl and the new young rainbow, almost like huging, and now the pearl spent all day what im very certain he is making a bubble nest.
my tank is about a 80 lter. it is completely full to the top of water, he has started making a nest at both ends of the tank, and the bubbles and not popping and are sticky together and growing fast.
I'm asking how they breeed? can these two species breed together?
Also, wht do i do? ive turned off my air stone because it was braking his nest. ?
i was wondering if i'll need to turn of the filter pump too?
is there thing i need to buy ?
- a fish box net seperator? and cerin food for when they arrive?
Do i need to setup an new tank and remove the male or female at a certain time?
Also in this new home the other tank here has breed fish like mad for years. is there really maybe something to about certain water that could make them more prone to breeded?
also i have not feed them live food or blood worm, to encourage this, im really excited but i neeed alot of help!
Thankyou
I was also thingking of adding more fish soon, more types of gouramis as they are my fav fishes, or should i hold off?[/b]
