so im fairly new to fishkeeping... had my current fish in my 10gal for a few days, and my betta for a few weeks... but does this look like ICH?

I usually do the ich treatment when in perril........and I don't take out my filter pads either........the general method is to remove your carbon filters during the treatment........well, I believe in curing the whole tank, filters and all, and I don't change the water for at least a week after the treatment. I want it all gone from the whole mess. A 30% water change afer a week is sufficient. Good luck and happy fishing........Maximo

Carbon removes medications from the water. Daily water changes help get rid of the free swimming parasites. Both good reasons to do as the directions usually state.
hey also arvlyn, i was reading the types of cory's you have, and it says 1 emerald... make sure its actually a cory, cause i bought one, and the common name is Emerald Green Cory, but the scientific name is Brochis Splendens, its related to the corydoras family, but is actually in the brochis family and isnt a cory at all...you can tell by the fact that its got more than 10 rays on the dorsal fin, and cory's only have seven, and it gets bigger than cory's, and needs more of its own kind... someone else pointed this out to me, and i had to get another friend for him (its one of them that has the ich)... and i plan to get at least one more...

Yeah, I found that out too. I'm wanting to get more of all my corys for both tanks, especially the Emerald, but haven't been able to find any lately. Luckily, so far, he hangs out with the rest of the corys, so he doesn't appear to be stressed in any way.
