Hi. I have just joined up to this forum.. Better than all the ones where i come from.. Australia..
I currently have a 3ft tank spare.. I am now looking at breeding Bristlesnose.
Any information would be greatly appreciated ..

Regards Renae

Hi renae welcome
I will give u all the info I know I have managed to get 1 pair to breed but not the other
First thing is sexing the fish am I easy as long as the fish are over 2.5 inch long the males have lots of bristles all over nose. The females have them but the will be a lot less and shorter.
The best combo I have found the try to breed them is 2males to 1 female as it is the male that starts the process off as they leer the female to a cave or some sort of tubing I found a big peace of drain pipe the best thing. Then the female lays the eggs and goes away again, at this point the male will stay there on guard the eggs and fan them with his tale. For about a week the quickest but longer if water is different it is hard were I living around 7.6ph.
Well good luck with them
Ps if the male eats the eggs the first times don’t worry this is the reason u have 2 males the female should lay for both males
Chris

Hi Thanks for the reply...

My Female bristles has no bristles what so ever... She is around 8 to 9 cm I guess..
Its sounds easy... Enough.. Atm i have 2 Male males and the female... and an albino male.....
I guess i just put them in the tank and let them go And do their own thing...
Thanks so much i prob will be asking for help along the way...
