I've been looking to buy a Betta at many LFS. They all look so sad and bored being kept in those tiny bowls. Is that why they all don't have very pretty long fins? most look rather ragged. Is that normal because of the conditions they're being kept in and will they grow out after being put into a larger tank and fed well?
I have bought, in the past, bettas that looked vry tatty. I bought them as I felt sorry for them. They have all turned out beautiful. I dont think I ever have had an ugly fishy. They probably just need TLC.
