I'm Confused

Right I know its not hard to confuse me

But I have baby fry, not too odd in a live bearer tank but my platty dropped on 3rd the other on the 5th so they can't be theirs as it would be less than 20 days from the last drop, I have some Guppies but they are not due to drop for another week around the 30th. I can't decide if they are guppy or platty fry but obviously something odd is happening.

Well it's usually 28-32 days but if your water is warmer then 78f this will shorten the gestation period.
Also some fish if stressed will hold onto the fry for llonger or give birth early if streesed, but if they look healthy then i guess mum could of passed a few fry and held on the the other's.

But it's all guess work we never rarely know what these fish are going to do next!!!

You easily tell the diffrence between platy and guppy fry, guppy fry are long and thinner where platys are more shorter and bulkier.

I doubt that a platy is dropping that often, its usally every 4-6 weeks (28-42 days)
