Ok so when school starts again cause its summer for me right now i get to save up my lunch money  to buy sum things for my tank.

My main focus it to upgrade my lighting which i found something i can afford on petsmart about $30 that holds 2 light fixtures cause right now i only have 1. That would give me about 1.3 repeating wpg. Then im gonna invest into a CO2 system which i found a cheap one for about $30 at petsmart too.

Ok so now here is where i need your help. :) I know i can only keep low light plants which I'm fine with. But i have no idea which plants to choose. I want a concept like this concave setup with driftwood as my focal point. But which plants would give me that type of an effect that are low light plants and that are hardy since its my first planted tank?

Thanx

hello,

I can't really help with plants too much, but with low light look into Java Fern, Anubias species and Java Moss.

You won't need CO2 with low light levels, so you can save your $30 there :)

Oh thats cool, but if i would want them to grow faster CO2 would help right?
to be honest I'm not entirely sure.

in chemistry there are limiting factors, and I'm not sure if CO2 depends on light. For example there might be a limit to which it makes a difference but after that no matter how much CO2 you add it wont make a difference unless you have enough light. But I dont know if thats true or not.

The idea is...you can give a plant all the sunlight in the world, but it will only get so far because it'll need more of other things...ie nutrients.

I hope you see where I'm coming from.

Do you think i can grow riccia with my tank conditions i really dont care if it pearls or not but it looks better than java moss IMO.
