I'm Afraid To Keep Bigger Fish Again :(

I had a bad experience with a big plec early on into my time in fishkeeping and now for some reason anything bigger that 3" I find daunting. Iwant to to put this guy in my tank -Catfeesh- but im worried he'll be too big for me to care for and give a suitable home to.

pictus are easy to care for, but they will eat most community fish, they will also hassle sleeping fish with their long whiskers.

I have two pimelodus species (much bigger ones, P. orantus and another that I cant think of the name atm,lol)
They are great active fish.

P. pictus only get to 4-5" so its not a big fish really, feed it lots of frozen bloodworm, earth worms and sinking pellets and they should do fine.
These also do better in shoals of 6, but it depends on your tank size tbh.

Pictus are great. They should really only be kept with hardy fish IMO as they do make a busy tank at night time. They love flying round the tank and any fish it low lying they crash into.

Great cat though.

i got 3 of these last night, they were all hiding at first but started to vernture out after a while.

am lookign forward to seeign what they are up to when i get in from work
