Hey all I am a newbie and I have been in the fish tank hobby for a couple of months now. I have a 10 gallon saltwater tank with a percula clown and a yellow tang which are happy and get along exceptionaly well. As you can tell by my name I am into surfing as well as the fish tank hobby 8) . So thats all I really have to say about myself and have a great day everybody.

Welcome to TFF!!! I can't wait to hear more about your tank! You've come to the right spot!

Hey everyone again I am in West Palm Beach, Florida which is an advantage to having a saltwater tank because I can go snorkeling at certain spots and catch my own fish for my tank. My dad and I get out water from the Intracoastal right by the inlet and the water is perfect for a saltwater tank and it also saves us money cause we usually get 12 gallons everytime we go so that saves us about 50 bucks :D . Well now your probably wondering why I still live with my dad and that is because I am only 15 so theres why I live with my parents still. My dad has his 20 gallon tank which does good for a while and then blah it kills everything in the tank over night cause he doesnt keep wild caught fish quarantined long enough to get all the parasites and the ick off which can kill storbought fish. My tank has NEVER had a problem because I refuse to put wildcaught fish in it. I did have 2 clowns, caribbean sean anenome, and some kind of jawfish with a yellowhead. The only thing that happened was I didnt know there was a manta shrimp or is it mantis shrimp? Well anyways it was in a piece of liverock and killed my jawfish who had a burrow under that piece of liverock. It also got one of my clowns and then the anenome ate the clown. WE did a freshwater dip on the liverock and sure enough the shrimp came right on out and that solves the 2 dead fish. I ended up giving the anenome to a neighbor down the street who has a 105 gallon tank and it is actually doing better in that so im happy ;) . So basically right now in my tank I have 2 pieces of live rock with some red coral starting to grow on it :D and I have one remaining percula clown and a Yellow Tang with about 3 small hermit crabs. I have some chalerpa or however it is spelled growing in my tank which not only keeps the phosphates down but is also food for my yellow tang. All I need now is a peppermint shrimp or 2 and then my tank has everything it needs. I plan to get a 12 gallon nanocube for my birthday which has excellent lighting which is capable of growing different types of corals. It also has the filtration and everything built in on the back so that will be pretty nifty. Well thats all I really have to say so everyone have a good day and you will hear from me again.
