Hi i ordered a copper hmpk off kg bettas and ive had him about 3-4 days now.He swimsaround but half the time he just sits at the bottom like hes dead.Kev the man form kg bettas said that all his bettas were about 4-5 months old so it cant be old age.

My betta does the same Hoddy..Not so much at the bottom but it rests on top of plants and on top of the heater..The first time I saw it lying on the plant I thought it was dead.. What a fright I got.. x

Well does he rest on the bottom in an upright position, or is he laying on his side? If he's upright then he's probably ok. I've had Bettas that did that before. But usually laying on the side is not a good sign...

Whats the water temp, some bettas act lethargic when the waters too cold for their liking. He may also be constipated, so raise his water temp a bit and fast him for a few days followed by a pea.

Some of my boys havent got heaters and they are more lethargic than the others.

If he is eating I would say he is cold :good: How long did you say you had had him? They take a couple of weeks to settle down. They also get bored and need stimulation. Mirrors for 5 minutes a couple of times a day are good :good:

i think hes got swim bladder! how do your cure this? quick please! should i move him into a filtered tank?

Once swim bladder has advanced hard to cure.
Bacterial med, epson salt bath, and shelled peas.

I had my adopted sb quite a while...kept him in a shallow container..nothing on floor so I could tell if he had been..nice warm water with a smidge of salt. Used to only feed him every other day fish food and always gave him peas the alternate day. :good:

he wont eat his pea that i gave him.Ill add a couple of teaspoons of salt to his water tomorrow.Hope he pulls through :(

Did you mush the pea up between your fingers, and roved the shell.

Its easy for them to eat it that way.
