I've got a male molly that seems to be staying down at the bottom of the tank more than usual and it also had pinky / redy gills - I have two other mollies and a betta in the tank and they are all fine.

Water parameters are good. I've treated tank with Interpet No. 9 and some melafix - any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks

Not good at the bottom, red inflamed pinky gills are a sign of gill flukes, any flicking and rubbing on objects or laboured breathing, plus has the other fish been pecking at the head area.

Thanks wilder

Not sure if he's been rubbing but will check. Seems to look fine other than just a lack of energy and slightly redy gill area, I would say he is a bit short on breath yes.

I don't want to use salts due to my betta (is that correct that bettas aren't good with salt?) so the suggestion on that page was malachite and formalin or masoten - are there an equivalent in the UK?

Thanks again

If water quality has been good, and he abit out of breath go ahead for gill flukes, good luck.
