Ill jack dempsey plz help!

Hi i have two jack dempseys one is larger than the other i have always assumed he was the male but recently i have just moved them both into another tank the same size as what they were previously in ( 30 g) i havnt seen him much hes been hiding in caves i have just seen him in the tank and he has got fat! He has grown loads and stomach is bulging any ideas? He also has white rings around his eyes i noticed he was larger around 2 days ago but thought nothing of it now he is huge! Any help will be appreciated!

I am thinking that the reason for your JD to be hiding so much is that it is due to the move. give him some time to get used to the new tank. as for the white rings around the eyes I would put some anti fungal meds in the tank and see if that helps it any if not your none the worse off than when you started doing it.

agreed with juan the move would have stressed him out abit, i have a black shark who is still stressed after 3 weeks

Hi thanks for the replys after alot of reading i think i now no what the problem is.....dropsy and pop eye.... i went out today and bought some internal bacteria treatment which treats both symptoms i have just given the tank the first dose and will need another in 4 days hopefully he will get better fingers crossed!

About the hidding. My JD's have been doing that for the 3 months ive had them. I have changed the tank alot though. Im still waiting for mine to turn into the personable fish i hear they are.

EDIT: Mine are acaully for sale right now but im thinking i might keep them.
