hi one of my leopard danios seems to be ill, he is looking very thin and isnt eating at all, he isnt swimming quite right and is at the bottom. he is swimming alot more than the other danios at the top of the tank he just dosnt stop. he has looked thin for a while but only stopped eating a week ago but has been swimming fine but not with the rest. hope it isnt any thing too bad.
sorry no water stats, new test kit comes tomorrow.
thanks

May be swim bladder... when i first got my danios one of them was so skinny i thought he would die so i moved him to my hospital tank and fed him a lot more then usual, why not try that... good luck.

Funilly enough this happened to me too but with some pearl danio. I bought 6 of them one was significantly smaller and skinnier and only ever hanged out with the Gold Barbs which always stood still. I didn't do much but I started to crush some flake on a lid, add some aquarium water to the lid and made sure the food dunk to the bottom of the lid. Then I just poured it in to the aquarium. That was the only way he ate at all. Now, he is much more active and has gains lots of colour. He is the same size as fellow Danios.Happy ending! :D
Hope your danio gets better
Carl

thanks for the replys, i have moved him into a seperate container (10L) and he still isnt eating but still swimming lots, befor i managed to put the lid on the new container he managed to jump out so he cant be too ill
should i be doing anything eles or should i just wait?
cheers

just put him back in the main tank, he is looking a little worse but he was just sitting on the bottom in isolation so hes back in the main tank where he is swimming.
hope this is the right thing to do?
cheers

hi
hes still in the main tank where hes been doing ok untill today. he still isnt eating but now his stomach is bloated and slightly squarish. one of his scales on his back is sticking up slightly and jis tail is pointing down because his back is bent.
i have a test kit now and everything is normal.
is there any thing i can do for him?
thanks

update:
just been doing some reading and think it could be an bacterial infection so i am treating with melafix, hope this is the right thing to do.

How many gallons is the tank.
What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Being skinny with a bent spine can be fish tb, internal parasites, vitamin deficiency, old age.
Also fish can bloat up with internal parasites and fish tb.

Look for these signs on all fish.
Being skinny or bloated.
Bent spine.
Sunken in belly.
Fish swimming on there sides.
Enlarged anus.
Red inflamed anus.
Worms prutruding from the anus.
Long stringy white poo, clear mucas poo, red poo.
