Ok having total rethink now

65L tank
Gravel bottom, might consider changing to sand
quite few plants

if you could only have 4 fish , either singles or pairs what would they be

be as simple or adventurous as you like

ok in my mind i was thinking more of either 2 pairs of fish medium size or at least grow in to
or may as youve both said
1 beautiful pair of something
and a shoal of prety and lively fish

now wow that might be interesting
aspitos very colourful
and wild bettas great looking fish
what gouramis would you go for , i thought they might be aggressive

could you have male female pairs of the them ?? or best to stay single sex

you can have male and female but you can only have one of the 3 if you put them all together the will fight

erm .... i hate that restriction of size :(

4 x synodontis multipunctatus :D

in your tank... errrr

1 longfin bn female
1 albino bn female
1 starlight bn male
1 normal bn male

..... Some nice variations out of that :D ... well maby need a bigger tank but hahah

I have four fish in my 10-gallon tank: one female betta and three hasboras. The deal is with that size of the tank, I like the idea of a "main showcase" type fish and then background movement. The betta is very interactive and she swims up and hangs out by me AND she eats from my fingers. The hasboras fill the tank, but are kind of lame when it comes to personality. I wouldn't want four schooling fish as they seem kind of zombie like!

Another idea would be two male guppies (and then add a few pygmy cories at the bottom). The pygmies are small and are SO cute and fun to watch (you could add two guppies and then four pygmies since they take up much less space.) That's another of my set-ups. The guppies and pygmy cories entirely ignore each other. . .but the guppies bicker a bit with each other.
