I'm about to set up a new reef tank and wondered what was the main thing, with hindsight, you wish you had done differently

Bigger tank with a big sump on it (no matter how big the tank is a bigger one would always be better ).

I would have never bothered with any sort of reef and gone for a larger tank to keep sharks and rays in.

That or a rack of smaller tanks to keep frogfish in.

I would have either
1) Gone with lots of smaller fish like gobies, green chromis, small clowns ect
or
2) Got trigger fish, lion fish, eels and preditory stuff.
