The ammonia eating bacteria would start to shut down (not die) and your nitrite production would stop - a good thing. No problem doing this for 24 hours so you could miss a dose for a day. You can in fact dose every other day and this usually has no detrimental effect, but it's better to just reduce the ammonia dose so that less nitrite is produced but the ammonia eaters are kept happy.

not many of them understand cycling with ammonia, which i always find very strange, but then one turned around to me one day and said, "you know on fish farms, they just wee in the tanks to cycle them"....and i'm like..."yeah crazy isnt it" and they are like "omg yes like", know what i mean like? like like like
