Identify This Gourami Please...

Hey I have a 25-30L tank if you haven't read any of my topics before!

I currently have

4 Guppies
5 Amano Shrimp

and I bought a nice Gourami yesterday and he seems to be settled in... However I can't remember what the type of Gourami it is.

Any help would be appreciated

That is an opaline gourami and gets far too big for a 25-30l tank.

It's about 2 inches.

Should I take it back and get a smaller gourami then?

It's not quite half grown.

I would return it and get something like a honey gourami if it is a gourami you really want.

How long does it take to grow to adult size?

Cause I may be able to cycle my other tank and transfer it before it gets too large?

what size is ur other tank. I'd keep it and get the larger tank set up,slap the current filter in the new tank along with the filter meant for the larger tank and transfer all the stock over

My other tank is a 2x1x1ft (57L).

I doubt my filter or my substrate will be enough for this tank...?

What's a suitable tank size for one of these?! lol

I had mine in 100l most of the time I had them (but they were happiest when they lived in my 6ft LOL) wouldn't keep them in less than that - maybe 80l if it is a long tank.

Oh haha.

I feel bad now... my LFS only commented on the Gourami being aggressive towards my Guppies... But I wanted to try it.

I will return tomorrow and get a better suited one for my tank.

I have seen a red one which he recommended...? I really should take note's of the names... lol

The honey gourami or red robin are around 2 inches or just over i think,they might be better suited,just a suggestion

Yeah, I think it may have been the red Robin gourami I was recommended!
