I was in a fish store yesterday and I was intrigued by a fish. I saw it's name but I can not remember it. It was a predator, it gets around 6 foot long! It is the saber tooth something, I think it started with a P. Any ideas?

I saw some little ones, they were about 8 inches or so.

What kind of tank would I need for this? I've always been intrested in a predator tank.

Payara (Hydrolycus species) ? None of them reach 6 feet but the largest species reaches 4 feet in the wild, the most commonly traded species of the group only reaches about 2 feet in the wild and a foot is good for a captive specimin.

That's it, thanks man.

I saw a picture of a guy holding one, it was at least 5ft.
