Identify Please?

I haven't seen this fish yet, but my friend says that they have "smiley" fish, which he thinks are cichlids, and are red in colour with a smile-shaped mouth. What are these?

I hope this isn't a silly question... I've been trying to find out on my own before asking but I can't find any info on this.

Oh, forgot to mention, they are fairly large, at least they aren't small.... probably 5 inches or something? This is a really rough guess.

Could be a parrot cichlid, it's a hybrid so have a look in the hybrid section for pics of them.

In your case, reading might be quite useful... I have clearly stated that I haven't seen the fish but found his description of a "smiley" fish odd, so that's why I wanted to know....

thanks jayjay... I think it might be a parrot, I'll have to ask him to compare the pics of parrots to his fish.
