Identification needed

Hi guys,

I just bought a new fish the other day. Its a small cichlid that I was told would get no larger than about 3-4 inches or so. Its yellow with a black line along the top of the dorsal fin. The scientific name on the tank was pseudotropheus coulis but I searched this on google and couldn't find a piccie or info. Does anyone know what it may be called (as in non-scientific name)?

have you tried searching fishbase?
http/www.fishbase.org/search.cfm

nothing comes up for pseudotropheus coulis
but there are plenty of pseudotropheus to look at.

It sounds like a mis-identified yellow lab to me...

Note that these are all different strains so they each look slightly different but they are the same species so you should be able to identify yours if it looks like any of them.

If not, describe it a little more and I will see if I can get you a match.
