Hi Everyone,

I have a Juwel rekord 60 (10G) with live plants, bogwood 1 pleco and 4x 2 month old guppy fry.

i'm fed up of looking at nothing..... is there anything i can put in which wont eat the guppy fry?

if so great, if not i'll move them and will then have an empty 10G (oh and a pleco)

will i be able to keep kribensis, if so how many.

any other ideas would be great but i dont want anything that will out grow the tank.

"and yes i know the pleco needs to move"

1st there 1 type of pleco that can be kept in a 10 gallon. Ottos, which are plecos, dwarf plecos, but they need to be kept in schools of 3 or 5.

What kind of pleco do you have?

No kribs. They need 20 gallons.

Cories will not eat guppy fry. Make sure they are small. Either pygmy or panda.

Ottos wont either.

So if you already have a 10 gallon set up apart from this one, why not just put fish in that one instead of moving the guppies. You could keep the guppies parenst in the other one, or some platties.

But if you want cichlids, try some shell dwellers. they need a high PH and shells, and areexpensive, but well worth the price.

he's a common pleco (big bad poo machine)

i have cories already in my 40G but thanks for the idea.

my stock list in my profile is up to date, if anyone has the time to take a look i'd be most gratefull.

what i really want is 4 or 5 fish about 2 inches long that will look cool. so no live bearers, guppies or anything like that.

kribs, rams, etc... but not sure what my options are.

like I said, shell dwelling cichlids

and you have 1 corry, the poor thing, get it some friends. THey are schooling fish ya know.

you have my attention?? please go on, i know nothing about cichlids but keen to learn

I love shell dwellers. They were one of the 1st cichlids that i learned about as well. They dont get that big, two inches at the most. They are from Lake Tanganyika in Africa. So that is a rift lake meaning they need a high Ph, 8.4-8.8 . The need sand, so get so cichlid sand, it has the Ph and all other things that they need. You could get 5 multies, 1m 4 f, they are the smalles, or two pairs of brevis, there are others, but a bit aggresive. They need 3 shells each.
