Ideas For Some Plants Please?

Hi all

I am looking into getting some plants for my tank.

it’s a jewel rekord 800 - 4ft x 1ft x 1ft with gravel

I am looking for some plants that are easy to maintain and won’t need me to add CO2. Im a complete beginner, so easy plants are a must.

I have already decided on java fern.
I don’t particularly like java moss, it seems like there is too much risk of it taking over the whole tank.

Any suggestions for easy plants would be appreciated : )
(preferably common ones that I am likely to find in my LFS

lol java moss won't take over the tank.... mosses are slow growers

Have you seen the list of easy to grow plants in the help section? They're all there...

some I think are easy to grow are

hygrophila difformis and polysperma
cryptocorynes
Some amazon sword species

hi, on the juwel website it says the rekord 800 measures 81 x 36 x 45 cm, which isn't 4' x 1' x 1'. does it have the high lite? because my brothers juwel lido has, and he grows loads of plants really well in that. he has Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Rotala rotundifolia, Vallisneria spiralis, Taiwan moss, moss balls, amazon frogbit and crypts. that's all without ferts or co2 (although we will be getting more ferts soon, we ran out about 6 months ago).

hi, i just measured it to check and it's defo 4ft x 1ft x 1ft.
i bought it second hand and googled to figure out which one it is. know it's a juwel rekord, but guess it isnt the 800 then.
sorry, am a bit dense and totally new to the world of fish, tanks and plants, i have no idea what a high lite is...
thanks for the info, i will have a look into all those plants
i just dont want to start adding things like co2 until i have more knowledge etc


Ah, I see what you mean, just googled before I replied.
I assumed it was this one, until you said and looked closer. my stand is bigger than that one, it has an open shelf in between the cupboards. Will have a look and try to figure out which tank it is : )

ps, it does have all the water in it now, someone asked for a pic as i was filling it so i took it as it was lol
