Ideas for my 55

Theres a trading post on my local radio station and im going to call in and say im looking for a 55g tank set up with or witought a stand. I was going to to get a 30g marine tank but the people i was going to buy it from are just really stupid. So once i get my 55 i was planing on puting sand in and theres a ton of wood around the woods next to my house. A mix of live and fake plants in there. Whats some fishy suggestions for my tank?

Why dont you tell us what you are thinking of first. What is available near you?

well alot is available around me such as almost all livebears, a good amount of cichlids, tetras, cats, and theres probly more but i cant think of any right now

If I had a spare 55g, I would do a community tank with discus as my centerpieces or I would do an African lake cichlid tank.

What kind of water do you get out of your tap? Ours here is really hard, so I'd probably go with the African cichlids.

Juvie discus are only $10-$20 depending on where you get them, and unless you are looking for a quality breeding pair ( which can reach upwards of $100-$200, they are not that expensive. I got my pigeon red for $19.99.
