Hey i posted in new but i dont think people look their much so im gonna post it here :)

Hey im new to fish, and have never had fish other then a betta, and once a goldfish. Anyway that was years ago. I wanna get into it because i have a 10 gallon tank that one of my reptiles grew out of, and i wanna try somthing new. Im mainly a reptile person, snakes and lizards are my thing, but im interested in learning about fish and i think it would look nice in my room with my reptile collection. Ok im not starting out with anything to large because this is my first attempt, and i already have this Like i said im new to this, and have done some research but its alot easier to understand when its personal and i can ask questions. So what i want is if anyone can recomend fish, how many fish can i get into a 10gallon, i know some say each inch needs one gallon, but i know what people say isnt always true because i hear what people say about snakes and lizards and its far off, and people just want to make money so they will tell you anything. I would love pictures of some 10gallon setups for some ideas THANKS Alot

There's a sticky here that gives some good ideas.

Out of it, I'd highlight my personal favorites: dwarf/honey/sparkling gouramis, dwarf corys, a species tank for shell dwellers, or 1-2 dwarf puffers (there's another good thread about them in the oddballs forum).

dwarf puffers is what i was going to say...

cool a 10 gallon shell dweller tank, what a great idea!!! thats an idea i like for my 20 gallon

yea im just looking for something easy to learn. and then with more experience move up.

If you're looking for something simple, the only thing I'd scratch from the list given so far is the dwarf puffer and maybe the shellies. Guppies and platys are pretty easy - it sometimes seems like they'd breed in mud, and if you get good stock they're reasonably forgiving of mistakes (some fancy guppies are sensitive from overbreeding, though).

Another fish that hasn't been mentioned is white cloud minnows or larger rosy minnows, which will do without a heater.
