i might have persuaded my OH to let me get a trigon 350 :D
that means i could use the current 125 tank as a home for my puffer fish and turn it into a brackish tank, therefore moving my freshwater community over to the trigon 350. or, i could turn the trigon into a puffer tank.
id like to perhaps turn the trigon into a marine, but not sure if finances will really hold up to create one.

any good ideas what i could do with it? bearing in mind if i use it for freshwater, my current community would go in there too

good choice of tank.... i have one too :D

i'd do it as a really big nice community, go to town with the planting and get Co2 etc in there, cos of the depth of them they make really cool interesting tanks to aquascape so it's a really good tank for a community.

we contemplated doing ours marine at one time, the depth could make a really cool reef rockwork formation, but cos of the structure of the cabinet it's not really adaptable to put a sump or anything like that underneath which albeit not essential, would make a massive difference to your tank, if you can house all your equipment out of the main tank it'd look really cool. :D

well i do love my plecos, and i could never get rid of them... so if i did go marine, i would still need to get a tank for the plecs.lol. so prob a good idea to make a community. i could finally get some awsome fish.

anyone got any ideas on what kind of fish i could put in there? i like single personality fish rather than shoaling fish. obv any fish would need to be adaptable to what i have now too.

Another 350 owner (1st thing i done was carefully removed the Juwel filter and heater housing the thing takes up the entire corner "around 1/2' x 2' then fit a decent external) But DONT sell it or bin it incase you need to sell it on later down the road as you would be suprised how cheap ive seen trigons go for on ebay because the correct filter/ heater wasnt in place.

I would also go for either a nice community set up (i did as a sweetner "i got the tank the wife chose the type of set up" personally i wanted an african theme as i love the cichlids) but im happy now its all set up.

You cant go wrong if you do purchase one as its an amazing bit of furniture that requires no real space as most corners are void anyways and a real talking point when visitors arrive.

Personally i looked through the members pictures section then cruised a few different places online to get a rough idea of the final outcome, problem is i constantly see new things and a light bulb appears above my head so who knows what i'll have in their next year.

That's part of the beauty of fishkeeping though, and the danger i guess. there's always something to be done, your tank will constantly evolve, no tank is ever 'finished'. however there is a big tendancy to end up with many many tanks cos you saw another cool idea and couldn't do it with your current set up so you just have to get another tank  mts is dangerous

i have the trigon 190, the 350 was about 2" too big for where i wanted it but would have loved one.
i think they are great tanks, you will hear comments suggesting you cant keep all that in only 350l but i think its unique shape does allow for bending usual rules, the depth of tank (front to back) is quite large.
i have just added an external filter and will be removing the internal filter which does take up quite some space.
viewing the fish is no problem through the curved glass and i am sure you will be well impressed

only time i find it awkward is to take pics of, the curved glass gives all sorts of reflections..... but i am a rubbish photographer

close all curtains, turn all sources of light off - except the tank lights, turn the flash off and should be ok
maybe use a tripod too :)

saw some pics of your 350 do you have normal white lights AND a moon blue type light in there?
how did you do that?

yeah i know, i still always get something weather it's coming from upstairs or a gap in the blinds, alwasy end up with something

i don't now but I have before, you know there's 4 tubes in there, the two small back ones we replaced with 'moonlighting' blue bulbs and kept the front two white :good:

ahh of course .. that explains it - the 190 only has 2 tubes... thought you'd managed to mod it somehow

ha ha nah sod that, i'm not too good with the technical side of things so no chance of that!

i found we very rarely used the blue tubes though, they do look cool but we just never put them on so we changed back to white after a while

i used to have both blue & white tubes and really liked the effect - all white now though. wouldnt have minded having a very dim blue light on 24hrs though

........ and are you as busy as me today at work :)
