I have had a 10 gallon for about a week, week and half now. I finally could afford a full testing kit, so tonight I did my first tests, I'm wondering...

1.) Are these results good?

2.) What would be PERFECT for a Betta?

RESULTS:
pH - 7.6
Ammonia - 1.0
Nitrite - 1.0
Nitrate - 0

Thanks in advance!!!

Looks like the tank's still cycling... -ideally- you'd want everything to be zero but that's not possible if there's actually a fish in there. ;) So realistically you want ammonia and nitrites to be 0, and your nitrates not too high.

ok,
Ammonia - NONE. not even .25 . None.
NitrIe - Just a tiny bit of leway, but nitrIte still isn't good. don't have any.
NitrAte - plenty of leway, you have worries about 40 - 60 ppm.
Try water change to get that ammonia reading down, even 1.0 means that betta is in pain swimming in POISON. not to be a killjoy, but you're looking at the idiot who killed 2/3 of his tank (of three fish) by not doing ammonia checks and water changes.

Thanks Smurf. I did my water change, I'm going to test the water tomorrow, hopefully it's changed a bit. Thanks for the input.
