Sleeping Somewhere. Or doing water changes. Or run
I always thought it would be cool to work in a LFS, but then realised I'd get mad at customers who do stupid things to fish. So then I got to thinking it would be really cool to have a mobile pet-care service. Like you have a van or something and go from house to house looking after peoples animals.

This could include:

1. Walking peoples dogs if they don't have time
2. Feeding and looking after peoples pets when they go away
3. Performing water changes and looking after fish and tanks
4. Washing dogs as required

etc.

Get the idea? So say the people who only want fish to look at. They could pay me to keep the tank and fish looking healthy and beautiful. I reckon with the busy world we live in it could be quite a lucrative business. People never have time for anything anymore.

NEXT!!

Actually here in the states there are alot of businesses like that and from what I can see, they are very lucrative.

There are over here too  .

Bought a new car the other week and got talking with Manager about the fish tank that was in the showroom.

He had no idea what size the tank was or even what the fish in it were (was actually a 55 gallon with four bala sharks and a common plec). He just paid a company to come in, set the tank up, put the fish in and go.

One of the staff feeds them daily and apart from that they do nothing.

The company then comes in once a week for 15 minutes, does a quick clean and waterchange and then goes.

Cost to the Manager....£60 a week!!

Good money indeed!!

if you really want to make good money with a pet related job, which is about $70+, you can pick up dog crap in peoples backyards. makes more than walking their dog. i saw in the news that some guy in new york i think started a business like this

Being a broadcasting grad, and love videography, I would love to go on those nature show shoots to reefs and whatnot to film life below the water. It would be awesome. That would be upwards on my dream job list.

I don't have the ideal job but I'm working towards it..

I'm now a jester at Marineland, and when I'm warming up the crowd for shows, I get to do tricks with the dolphins and such.
And I work my way up the ladder to eventually becoming a trainer. :D

You can make good money in servicing other people's tank....I think the average people here charge about $30 or more per hour...so it's not a bad job....

did you get to ride a dolphin yet? did you get to make it jump out of the water launching you like 10 feet?
Haha, no, I only just officially got the job yesterday!

I don't get to do tricks with them until May, I have to go through training first.. they won't let just anyone have the dolphins jump through the air!

Yeah. I am sure I could make the water change on any size tank take at least an hour. Thats why water pressure is adjustable right B)

Heck....when I change my 4 tanks....a 30,10,6 and 75gal it takes me 1/2 hour. I am sure I could stretch it if required. Not to mention telling the potential that the more water changes the better :p

my boss has a few customers he does tank cleaning for. and to do a water change, gravel vac a algae scrub and filter clean he charges £25 per tank.

charging by the hour isn't the best way to do it as some tanks are going to literally tank 5mins. Just do a set rate per tank

my sisters, friends dad runs a business where he sets up show tanks(in doctors offices etc) and goes and services them once a week, not a shabby job at all
