I just saw this as someones profile picture on another forum, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is. I didn't see that they said anywhere and was honestly too lazy to make an account and ask.

Whatever it is, I love it and need one immediately.

Some type of gourami would be my guess, I think I have seen them before online somewhere a person in Asia was keeping them but for the life of me I can not remember the exact name of the fish or where I saw it.

Try looking up Samurai Gourami Sphaerichthys vaillanti

Thats the right one, believe they also get called Samurai Gouramis, a type of Chocolate gourami. If tehy are like the similar species, they will be small, very shy, better off in a species only tank and have very specific water requirements, soft and acidic or something like that. Would also expect them to be really expensive. Beautiful fish though!

If you can find one McCool, and can care for its special requirements I think you should treat yourself with the recent upset with your betta! Good luck on the search :)

Yeah, wish I had a setup for a pair! Stunning fish!

I'm afraid I don't have an available tank for them. Definitely a fish that I may look into in the future though! :)
