they are in same tank but female is kept inside a transparent box and the male is making a bubble nest under the Styrofoam.
So are they ready

can't say anything as i just started with betta and they are with me from just 2 weeks and she is slightly fatter and i think light colored females don't have horizontal or vertical strips

well if you wont to breed them u could try conditioning her by keeping her by her self and feeding rich meaty foods but you would notice if she was making eggs she wouuld look very rounded like some1 put a marble in her stomach

also breeding a vt and a ct leaves you with fry that may be hard to home as they arnt "as pure" as vt's bred with vt's

i dnt know why but ive been told and seen many posts that say this

well if you do find there are too many just remember they are hard to sell but i would try conditioning her feeding them both frozen or live bloodworm thats for best results imo :)

i am feeding her dried bloodworm and here in india they are very easy to sell as they are very rarely found here

In my opinion as a breeder that female is no where near ready. What have you conditioned them on and for how long?

Males nest all the time its not a sign there ready to breed.

Also if your new to keeping bettas i seriously would not recommend jumping straight in and breeding them. It is very hard work

+1

Also lilfishy my bettas dont make a nest only when lookin for some uh-hum r they unhappy? They look happy tho

Ive been lookin after bettas for a year now and i dnt even think im ready yet i just dont wont to risk having one killed so a little more reasearch and ill breed my fenikksus and my mums female :)
