I bought my tank second hand and this came with it. As I'm a noob I havent a clue what it is? So if anyone can tell me I would be greatfull!

that is a breeding trap, use for livebearers to gove birth in, it can also be used to isolate fish

hi, it's a breeding trap for livebearers. you float it in your tank, and you are supposed to put the female in just before she gives birth, and the fry go into a little section at the bottom so the female can't eat them. then once the female has finished giving birth you can put he back into the main tank. however, it is very stressful for her to be in the trap, so it is best not to use it. i watch her carefully until i see she has given birth, then i catch the fry in a net and put them in the breeding trap until they are big enough to go into the main tank.
