Unsure of the id of these juveniles
pic 1 I believe is a female as the fish in pic 2 coloured up to this when with other fish but looked exactely same as pic 1 when isolated in ts own fish bag.

Sorta looks like a Melanochromis johanni.

unless you're right in that ones female which in the johanni's case would be yellow. Why do you think its female? also the johnni male will have yellow eggspots, but this seems to have a yellow tailfin and more yellow on the anal fin than it should. possibly a hybrid?

Think pic 1 is a female as what I've read says that they are yellow and it was that colour in a tank of mixed juveniles pic 2 was the colour shown in the pic. When put in fish bags for inspection the fish in pic 2 immediately returned to the colours of the fish in pic 1 and immediately darkened again when returned to tank
 
I'm not sure I understand. I only see one picture. In any case the fish in the picture that I see in my opinion is a M. johanni w/ a C. afra Minos Reef behind him. A johanni male should have no yellow except the eggspots on his analfin. Again this could be a hybrid. But, what do you think it is?

o there we go. definatley M. johanni. for some reason that first pic did not show up before!
