First soz for the size of the pics i forgot to resize them.
The on in the first 2 pics is the darkest one.
In the second pics the fish are a bit lighter, i have 2 fish like this only one is slightly darker.
Can anybody tell me the species.

It looks like an auratus.. But blue.. Possibly a blue morph.. I also think that the johanni's get blueish too.. But usally they get darker blue not a light blue.. I am almost certain im wrong but curious to find out.

Yeh i think they are most probalby johani but i might be wrong do you see what i mean in the last 2 pics the fish are lighter they couldnt be 2 different species are they???
Arent the females yellow or do they develop yellow over time???
So this must mean i have 3 males.

looks like you have a alpha male and a submale
I''ve had the Maingano strain and LOVED them, much more docile then the mean johannii

mamafish is correct, you have 2 Johanni, the darker fish is displaying its full colours because it is the more dominant. The other is paler to show its submission and to avoid aggression. "Alpha male" means the primary male, in other words the more dominant, the boss. You can't have 2 Ginge, you may have 2 males but only 1 will be the "Alpha male"

Hi i had 2 fish exactly the same markings as yours, i bought them as johanni pair as juveniles, as they grew they had the same markings as yours so i just guessed i had 2 males because as you say the females are yellow, but only a few weeks ago just before xmas i noticed one of my male johanni had a lump under his mouth so on closer inspection it was a mouthful of eggs and he/she has spat 4 babies last week, so my guess is they are some sort of auratus morph or a very very poor strain of johanni resulting from lots of inbreeding, but as i say this is only my vbery recent experiance.

I am really glad i have this maingano fish but i am fuming that they sold me the other two telling me that they were all teh same species they cost me £12 for 3 and say i can take them back at any time but i wont get any mone for them. They said that the other two fish in the pics were females.
Liers
Any ID in the second pic would be handy.

after looking at the link mamafish posted i can now see that i have maingano and looking at ur pics would say the second one down is a female, the last pic u have is a male and female but me like you where sold them as johanni.
