I got this tank secondhand, it has this interesting grass plant and a bunch of smallish java ferns. He's had the tank for a while, so I assume the java ferns are full size (I've never actually had java ferns before 😅)

What are they? I'm more interested in identification of the grass plant, but if it's possible to ID the cultivar of the java fern that would be awesome

Thats Dwarf Sagittaria. The Java fern should not be buried. It should be tied to structure with the roots exposed. It will also get much larger if treated right.

Thank you! The java ferns are getting put onto wood mostly. I'm adding fertilizer and especially potassium supplements for the java ferns, they're covered in little black holes. Do you think they're not any sort of cultivar? They're very small, the original owner doesn't know

I don't think so.
