I'll start with the basics. I have a 55 gallon tank, no live plants, community fish including zebra danios, mollies, swords, platys and black neon tetras. Approximately 20 fish total, all relatively small. Temp is set around 79. Ammonia and Nitrate and Nitrites are at good levels. Not positive about PH or hardness.
Okay, here's the deal. All five of my tetras have developed Ich, and it has appearded slightly on one sword. I noticed it a couple days ago and it has not seemed to get much worse. There are multiple Ich spots on the tetras, but as I said, no one else really seems to be affected. I have done water changes while syphoning gravel, about 15-20% at a time. I have also been adding aquarium salt after each water change. I have Ich Cure, but I am worried it may harm the pregnant livebearers I have.
Question: Does anyone have experience with if it harms the developing babies or if they are unaffected by the mel. green stuff? Does anyone have other suggestions on what I could do to remove the little pests? I am trying to avoid any harm to the babies. I don't want to go on much longer, so if you need more information, just ask, but any advise would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
