My african knife has ick or something on him and would Aquarisol work to cure him? And if it does work how long do I keep the carbon out of the filter?

Aquarisol is very good from what I've heard. That should help. Keep the carbon out until the ich is gone and your suggested treatment time is over. You can use filter floss in the meantime.

wouldnt keeping the carbon out that long be dangerous?

Why would it? I don't use carbon in any of my tanks. Is your tank fully cycled?

If you use those little carbon cartridges you can assume that the one you have is going to be trashed anyway,so pull the mesh off the outside and stick that in your filter. It should have beneficial bacteria growing on it and if you add some filter floss (you can use poly-fil pillow fluff instead if you like) it will spread onto your floss and continue to grow while you treat. It will be fine.

would it be ok to add "cycle" after I add my aquarisol because I took out the carbon media and I want to make sure with the carbon out there will be no ammonia spike.

I added aquarisol to my tank a few hours ago and removed the carbon...can I add "cycle" (product by hagen) to my filter to make sure there is no ammonia spike with the carbon removed? Will adding cycle screw with the aquarisol?

No,it shouldn't bother it at all.
