my betta has ick this is the first time a fish has had ick in 5 YEARS i need to know what kind of stuff will treat it that i can use at home because my mom is to stubborn to take me oh AND FIN AND TAIL ROT

For fin and tail rot use Bettafix. It works. Don't use melafix, though, because it's too strong. Also, try adding some salt and giving salt baths. I've read books where the author only treated the fish with salt baths (effectively, by the way).

if you are going to use thought, make sure your pelco or other catfish is not in the same tank
