My tank had ich, and I did all I knew to get rid of it.. garlic in food, raising temp, keeping lights off, some medicine, ect ect, it hasnt died off.

My 3-spotted damsel was COVERED this morning, it wasnt black, but white due to the ich.. and I think it was the ich that killed him.

Is there any other way to help get rid of the ich aside from removing the fish?

and is there a way to tell if you still have ich or if it died off?

If you add copper to the tank it will remove the ich.. howver you wil not be able to use it as a reef tank and you certainly canot keep any shrimps crabs etc as copper is deadly to them. This is why reef tanks are so much harder to maintain than invert only or fish only tanks :/

I would try Maracide first and if that isn't successful then I would get rid of the crab and the shrimp and use a copper medication. Even if you can't afford a larger tank right now, I would buy enough live rock to have 1.5lbs per gallon. That might save the fish. Sorry for your loss. :byebye:

I've had many trial and error during this, and I have learned LOTS from my mistakes.

I decided that I am not going to give up. if these fish die, Im going to leave the tank running for like a month before trying again with a goby and a few more shrimps. I find my shrimp very amusing! That would be the best thing for me.

I did my best through all my errors, Thanks again to all that helped me

does Ich go on inverts too? shrimp, crabs and corals as well? or just fish?
